The Translation Of Chinese Culture From The Perspective Of Variation Translation Theory

As Chinese culture has become more and more attractive to foreigners in recent years,it does prove that the spread of Chinese culture has indeed reached all corners of the world.This will inevitably refer to the translation of many classical books and cultural readings about Chinese culture.Chinese culture has a long and profound history,and it is difficult for audiences to understand the translation.Therefore,it is important to find out appropriate translation skills and theories.The Chinese version of Insights into Chinese culture is written by Ye Lang and Zhu Liangzhi of Peking University in 2008.It is a book to show the cultural connotation and life state of China to the world when Beijing Olympic Games is held."Although we live in the context of Chinese culture and Chinese history,not every Chinese knows the spirit of Chinese culture.Today,we also need a culture of spontaneity and a new understanding of our own culture.Insights into Chinese culture is a book that can show the inner spirit of Chinese culture and the living spiritual world of Chinese people,cultural character,life attitude,and aesthetic taste of Chinese people.Its contents are all traditional cultures that are close to Chinese life customs,culture and modern Chinese people do not necessarily understand.As a good text of cultural output,its English translation version naturally has something for the translator to study.As people knows that variation translation theory was first come up with Professor Huang in the late 1990s,which aroused many scholars’attention and debate in translation field.Then theory provides scholars with a new perspective for researches on literary translation.On this theory,there are seven translation strategies-supplement,deletion,edition,reduction,summarization,combination and adaptation seven strategies in total.Whether these strategies can be reflected in the translation of cultural texts and serve as a guiding theory for the translation of cultural texts,and whether they can become a paving stone for the future cultural translation of translators,is what the author wants to study.The theory puts the audience in first place.Readers’acceptance is the decisive factor in translation process.After searching literature,the author of this paper found that there is little research on the translation of variable translation theory in cultural translation.Therefore,the author of this paper made a translation in cultural translation to reflect the value of variable translation theory,which can be used to guide the translation of Chinese culture in the future Whether cultural text translation from the perspective of variation translation theory has its own advantages and disadvantages,and whether the translation can be accepted by the audience.That is the question for the author.
