Qi And Mencius Body View

This paper focuses on the development of body philosophy in the field of classical interpretation,deeply examines the Mencius' view of body,which is the representative of Confucian view of virtue and body,and analyzes the relationship between Qi and Mencius'view of body,as well as the meaning of Qi in Mencius'view of body.The first chapter of the paper examines Mencius'view of body from the distinction of "Da Ti"and"Xiao Ti",as well as the view of "Jian Xing",combined with the theoretical basis of mind and nature of body view,it is considered that Mencius'discussion of the body has three levels of significance:the body of the basis of the transformation of virtue,the body fully expanded as the good end,and the body as the Noumenon of virtue.The second chapter discusses the position and function of Qi in Mencius' view of body.There are four expressions of gas in Mencius'thought,namely,"Ti Qi","Ye Qi","Ping Dan Zhi Qi"and"Noble Spirit",in which"Noble Spirit"is the core.In Mencius'discussion of the body,gas permeates the three meanings of the body and has correspondence and integrity.Gas has three kinds of meanings in Mencius'view of body,including the composition of the body:"Xue Qi",the spirituality of the body:"De Qi"and the transcendence of the body:"Noble Spirit".Qi is in the bottom mechanism of communicating body and mind in Mencius'view of body and mind,at the same time,it has the existence and spirit,as well as the transcendence of limited connection and infinity.The rest part briefly compares Mencius and Xunzi's view of nourishing the spirit.Due to the difference of the theory of mind and nature,the exposition of the view of body and the theory of time is also obviously different.Although Mencius' view of body is the representative of Confucian view of morality and body,it has opened up a new road of"nourishing Qi " for Confucianism's theory of cultivation.However,Xunzi's view of body with authority and propriety is also a useful supplement to the Confucian view of virtue and body in influencing the social and political order.Mencius put forward the "debate of Zhi and Qi",which has a more obvious position in the field of intrinsic moral consciousness,and because of the twists of gas to the consciousness of the universe,the inner transcendence advocated by Confucianism has a more solid basis of ontology.Mencius'view of body can be said to be rooted in the life world and thus provide everyone with a way to settle down.In addition,the transcendence and completeness of the perceptual body point out a way for scholars to seek up and down,so that Confucianism has more Noumenon significance in the way of mind cultivation.
