| It is generally held by the researchers both home and abroad that the prototype theory is in close association with word-buildingand polysemy in English teaching.And this dissertationwill analyze the feasibility of the employment ofthis theory in English synonym teaching in senior high school and lay a solid foundation for further research,which can also promote vocabulary teaching in senior high schools.Based on the analysis of the relevant researches as well as established results,this dissertation makes an expansive survey and detailed study concerning the difficulties that senior high students have with their vocabulary acquisition.During my internship at Heilongjiang Experimental High School,the study is conducted between the uncontrolled class and controlled one,with the traditional teaching and prototype theory for each respectively.After the experiment,a before-and-after comparison is made between the results for each class,relying on the questions of entrance examination and the authoritative sample tests.Apart from the data collected before and after the study,SPSS 22.0 is used to figure out the influence of prototype on the teaching of synonyms in senior high school.The prototype theory,according to the results of the study,makes a significant contribution to the teaching of English synonyms in senior high schools.After the study,students’ performance has been tremendously enhanced,and they seem to be more active in their learning.This also contributes to a much better teaching practice and capability for teachers.The cooperation between teachers and students also helps to promote the teaching efficiency compared with the tradition teaching method.Finally,a summary of the weakness of the study and vision for the future are also included in this dissertation. |
