| In the 21 st century,a rapid development has been made in science and technology,especially in the field of artificial intelligence.In recent years,due to deepening international exchanges of artificial intelligence,translators are facing new challenges.This translation practice selected science and technology news related to artificial intelligence from the Washington Post(2018-2019)as the translation text,through translation and analysis,the author have acquired new thinking and understanding of artificial intelligence news translation.This report is consists of four parts: task introduction,process description,case analysis,problems and reflections.The case analysis is the key part of this report.In this part,Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory is adopted to analyze the difficulties of the articles from three aspects: technology news headlines,vocabulary,and syntax.For example,numerous new words,terminologies and many passive sentences,parenthesis and long complex sentences are found in the news texts.Next,the translation methods and techniques are adopted including the direct-search method,lexical conversion,voice conversion,addition of words,division and restructuring,etc.Finally,summarize the key points and findings,the author has gained many improvements and accumulated rich experience in this translation practice and hope to provide some reference for the translators of scientific papers. |
