A Translation Practice Report On C-E Translation Of A Practical Book For Huangshan District Guides

To increase the international influence of the tourist attractions in Huangshan District,promote its cross-cultural exchanges and spread the local traditional culture represented by Hui culture,it is very important to translate the tourism texts of Huangshan into English.In recent years,a growing number of tourists have been attracted to Huangshan Scenic Spot with the continuous development of tourism brands.Therefore,it is necessary to actively expand and enhance the quantity and quality of C-E translation of Huangshan tourism materials.Meanwhile,foreign tourists can be familiar with the scenic spots and cultural traditions in this region.This thesis is based on the C-E translation practice of the excerpts from the book A Practical Book for Huangshan District Guides.Starting from the background of tourism translation research,this thesis analyzes its current research situation at home and abroad,and introduces the existing research results,the background and significance of this project as well as the process of the whole translation project.This thesis studies and discusses the classification and characteristics of tourism texts,and sums up three characteristics of the text in this project.From the angle of word,syntax and text respectively,this thesis discusses these text characteristics through analyzing the original text and the translated text of selected sample sentences.Based on the author's own translation practice,she adopts a variety of translation methods and skills to deal with the cultural differences between Chinese and English involved.Through the collection of relevant tourism materials,translation of the text,refinement,promotion and improvement of the translation,the author aims at meeting the needs of target readers of target language while improving her own translation ability and practical skills at the same time.Hope this translation practice report can provide some reference value for the translation of tourism texts in Huangshan region.
