| The report was selected from the chapter 4,5 and 6 of Reframing Sustainable Tourism edited by Stephen F.McCool and published by Springer.As the key theory of the book,the chapter 4,5 and 6 mainly deals with frameworks for tourism as a development strategy,strategic community participation in sustainable tourism and framework for understanding sustainability in the context of tourism operators.The language feature of the text is that it employs many inanimate subject sentences and long and complex sentences which impose higher demand for translator to achieve cohesion.According to language features and stylistic features of the text,translator deals with extension of meaning from two aspects: concrete extension and abstract extension;for inanimate subject sentences,translator summarizes her translation methods according to different categories she divided,that is,animate predicate verb,inanimate predicate verb,personification and the-ing form as the subject;for cohesion,translator employs three methods: reference,ellipsis and conjunction. |
