| Lin Xiyuan,courtesy name was Maozhen,and whose name was Ciya,was born in Quanzhou(now Xiamen)Fujian Province in the Ming Dynasty.He was a philanthropist,philosopher,and writer who has a considerable insight and talent in the Ming Dynasty.In terms of ideology,he boldly criticized the retro proposition of the former seven scholars that“ literature is bound to the Qin and Han Dynasties,and poetry is bound to the prosperous Tang Dynasty ”,opposed sentences imitating words and ancient style,promoted prose of the Tang and Song Dynasties,and advocated the doctrine of the ethics.As is seen that the herald of opposing the school of the Qin and Han,in the middle and later periods of the Ming Dynasty,and played a positive role in changing the negative influence of the literary circle.In terms of literary creation,poetry is rich in subject matter and various in flavor proves.It presents genuine and sincere feelings for farewell works,some works will be to express its generous and heroic feelings,and Patriotic poems expresses his melancholy and grief with the help of diversified artistic techniques,such as rhetoric,allusion and narration.In terms of prose,it covers all kinds of styles,such as memorial to the throne,letter-writing,preface,mourning and memorial style,etc.,with different genres and excellent styles.It highlights distinctive creative characteristics and literary consciousness.For example,setting up high ideas,making a small point mean a big thing,or expressing one’s feelings directly and speaking one’s mind,or using truth and weaving-writing style and making a distinctive strategy.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part: brief introduction of Lin Xiyuan’s life,family studies,family traditions and social contacts show the influence of life experiences on individual emotion and literary creation.The second part: the author analyzes the ideological content and writing characteristics of poetry in different categories.The third part: the prose is divided into four categories,including sparse prose,letter-writing prose,preface prose and mourning memorial prose,showing its different writingtechniques and artistic styles.The fourth Part : expatiate on Lin Xiyuan’s literary proposition,his social status and influence in the society at that time. |
