Martin Heidegger mentioned that in the age of "world image",any text has been transformed into visual images, even written text. Therefore, popular language in various media is a kind of visual text in the age of image. These ordinary written words are "written" with novelty, vivid image and emotional color.Popular language is a kind of changing linguistic symbol. As a microcosm of national and social reality,it is a special discourse with important value in different periods.According to the different subjects of discourse, catchwords can be divided into two categories, one is the mainstream media catchwords and the other is the social platform catchwords.Among them, the mainstream media buzzwords involve important changes in national policies and policies, while the social media buzzwords concern the typical events in people's social life. From the micro perspective, the study explores the communication modes and discourse attributes of the two discourse systems, and summarizes the differences between them.Based on this, this paper takes a macro view of reality and analyses the game and communication between the two kinds of catchwords,so as to put forward some thoughts on how to consolidate the discourse power of the mainstream media in the new era and how social media can participate in the issues and enrich the mainstream culture.Based on the theories of communication, sociology and other disciplines, and from the perspective of discourse theory, the study tries to make a comparative analysis of two different discourse systems of popular language by means of content analysis.Chapter one first combs the concepts of discourse theory and catchwords, and summarizes the causes of catchwords.Chapter two examines the differences between the two discourse systems in terms of vocabulary source, motivation, discourse form and content, and communication mode through the analysis of the two popular language texts from 2010 to 2018,and reveals their respective characteristics in expression, understanding and communication. On thisbasis, the third chapter explores the implication of "discourse power" hidden behind the two.Chapter Four puts forward some thoughts on the dissemination of the mainstream media catchwords and social media catchwords in the new era.In order to re-examine the relationship between the two discourse systems and open a new window for political and civil communication in the Internet era.The research finds that mainstream media catchwords take the mainstream media as the main body of communication, while promoting mainstream values and disseminating important information related to the national level by virtue of their dominant position,so the discourse family of mainstream media catchwords has obvious national discourse attributes;the netizens of social platforms are the main producers and disseminators of social media catchwords, and they share themselves on open social platforms. In my daily life,I have achieved the liberation of the right to speak, and even formed a mass discourse carnival, which shows that social media catchwords have outstanding characteristics of mass discourse. The difference of discourse content between the two determines the inevitability of the contest for "discourse right".Social media buzzwords convey the desire of grassroots groups to implement public opinion supervision and appeal to individual public opinion, and even find the source of vocabulary from the mainstream media reports, resulting in their discourse system being contaminated with political practice and showing resistance to mainstream media buzzwords. However, the mainstream media buzzwords do not turn a blind eye to the wide spread of social platform buzzwords, but are inclusive based on resources and platform advantages, and even put some social media buzzwords into the mainstream media page, forming a mild edition, which forms a kind of "cultural circulation" communication interaction.
