Research On Li Gang’s Poetry During His Relegation Period

After several times of the ups and downs in his official career,Li Gang formed a unique literary perspective and created a large number of poems during the relegation period.On the one hand,these poems recorded the relegation environment and his relation life,which was the reflection of the political situation of amid the northern and southern Song Dynasties;on the other hand,the poems were also the carrier of his mentality concerning relegation and the tool to regulate his mind of state.An in-depth study of Li Gang’s relegation poetry will help us to clarify the changes in the content of his poetry and further grasp the changes in his mentality about relegation.This thesis is divided into three parts.The first chapter is Li Gang’s experience of relegation and the abstract of his poetry creation.Based on the chronology,the author defines the time of Li Gang’s three times of relegation and organizes the literary creations during the three periods.Li Gang had served as an official for a total of 27 years,and experienced three periods during the reign of the emperors Huizong,Qinzong and Gaozong during the Song Dynasty,and encountered the relegation during Xuanhe period to Shayang,during Jingkang period to Linjiang and during Jianyan period to Jinxiang.The number of poetry creations in different periods varied.These three times of relegation lasted for ten years as long and had an important impact on Li Gang physically and mentally,which was also prominently reflected in his poetry creation.The second chapter is the classification study of Li Gang’s relegation poetry.Due to the influence of the experience of the relegation,the poetry content and emotions created by Li Gang were affluent.Among them were the sorrows of being forced to live in relegation residence,the feelings of worrying about the country and the people,the telling about the history to draw lessons from it,and the descriptions of tangible objects to express his feelings.This chapter explores the characteristics of his poetry in terms of content and emotion.On the basis of this,the chapter compares the poetry creations of the three relegation periods,analyzes the specific changes in different periods,and summarizes the poetry creation trajectory of Li Gang’s relegation periods.The third chapter mainly analyzes Li Gang’s poetry creation mentality,and elaborates on the evolution of Li Gang’s poetry creation mentality.Whether the persistent consciousness at the beginning of the relegation or the transcendentalconsciousness of self-consolation in the late stage of the relegation are closely related to his relegation experiences.The externalization of this kind of mentality has formed his relegation poetry with unique characteristics.
