This practice report is built on the author's interpreting task,which was “Philippine Patriotic School delegation visiting Shenyang Normal University Spring Kindergarten”.The author was entrusted by School of Foreign Languages to provide an escort interpreting service for Ms.President of the Philippine School.This practice report consists of four parts.The first part is a brief description of the interpreting task,including the background and the purpose of the task.The second part sets forth the interpreting process,including preparation,site interpreting and self evaluation.The third part is the case analysis.In this interpreting practice,the author discovered three categories of interpreting barriers,namely: vocabulary vacancies,source language obscurity and information redundancy.The three above mentioned obstacles are summarized,classified and analyzed via typical cases in this report.The author also proposed three targeted strategies respectively based on Reformulation,namely: paraphrasing strategy,complementary and explanatory strategy,omission strategy.The author illustrated multiple cases for each strategy and gave detailed explanations.The last part is the summary and reflection of this interpreting practice.
