A Practice Report Of “2018 Seminar Of Renowned African Journalists”

The author,who is appointed to act as an interpreter at the “2018 Seminar of Renowned African Journalists”,is responsible for the interpreting work of the Solargiga Energy Company in Jinzhou City,Liaoning Province.Based on this practice,the practice report is accomplished.Based on this practice report,the author uses interpreter's subjectivity in liaison interpreting as the starting point.Firstly,it describes the whole process of the interpreting practice,which including pre-task preparation,the description of the interpreting process and post-task assessment.Secondly,the author analyzes how the interpreter's subjectivity is manifested in the liaison interpreting from three aspects,which include the interpreting strategies,language organization and paralinguistic features.Finally,the author summarizes the major findings,limitations and suggestions of this report.Through the interpreting practice and theoretical analysis,the author finds that because of the flexibility of liaison interpreting,the interpreter's subjectivity plays an important role in the dialogue process.In this process,the interpreter is not only required to act as an interpreter,but also the role of the “coordinator” of the dialogue.The interpreter must give full play to the subjectivity in order to make the interpreting activities go smoothly.The author hopes that this interpreting report will improve interpreters' understanding of the interpreter's subjectivity and provide some inspiration for future interpreters.
