The Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards puts forward specific requirements for English learning for students of all grades in junior high school.However,for the second grade students,due to a series of reasons such as a small amount of vocabulary,most of them have various problems in the process of English writing.This must have something to do with the teacher.On the one hand,some teaching methods are inadequate.Reading and writing are often separated,and the mutual promotion of reading and writing is ignored in the teaching process.On the other hand,junior high school English teachers pay less attention to English writing.During my internship at a middle school in Changde,Hunan Province,I found that students in my internship class also had some problems in reading and writing."Reading-based writing",as the name implies,means reading to develop writing.In recent years,the writing teaching mode of “reading-based writing” has gradually entered the classroom.Reading and writing are two interdependent,interactive language skills.Reading is the focus of English teaching in middle school.Reading to write can not only maximize the usefulness of reading materials,but more importantly,it can also integrate reading and writing teaching.It is the combination of reading and writing.A good reading material is also a writing sample.Students collect writing materials,build frameworks,improve language levels,and then migrate to English writing on similar topics.The process from reading to writing makes students' writing better.This study starts from the status quo of English reading and writing of Grade eight students to explore the "reading-based writing" writing teaching mode.In order to be able to investigate and study the application of "reading-based writing" in English classroom teaching of Grade eight,the author raised the following questions:1.What is the current status of English reading and writing of Grade eight students?2.How to use the mode of "reading-based writing" to achieve effective writing teaching?3.What is the effect of “reading-based writing” in English classroom teaching of Grade eight? In which aspects?This research mainly adopts the investigation research method and the test method.Firstly,the author randomly distributes the questionnaires to the students of Changde Foreign Language School.Through the questionnaire survey,the author can know the current status of reading and writing of Grade eight students and the status quo of teachers' reading and writing teaching from the perspective of students.Then,based on the survey results,the author designs reasonable pre-,while-,and post-reading activities as well as pre-,while-,and post-writing activities,conducts teaching experiments,and compares the results before and after.Through text analysis,questionnaires and pre-and post-test,the author summarizes and analyzes the data obtained.The experimental results show that the author's "reading-based writing" writing teaching process is helpful for enriching the writing content,constructing the text organization framework and improving the language level.
