The Study Of Yuan-Zhu Zhi Yu Xue-Chuang Tan Yi

This dissertation is about the study of a collection of legendary novels named Yuan-Zhu Zhi Yu Xue-chuang Tan Yi,which was written during the Wan-li Period of the Ming Dynasty.The stories in the collection were set in Jiaxing,a southern town in China.These fictions show the folk culture of Jiaxing,as well as the corrupt customs at that time.It truly reflects the social features and problems of Jiaxing,which has a high historical value.In terms of artistic features,the writing style of "poetry novels",the narrative of "legendary sorcerer",the stylistic layout of "novelist self-evaluation" and the strong "realism" characteristic make it outstanding not only in the literature of Ming Dynasty,but also in the history of novels writing in classical Chinese,it has a prominent role of "supporting the past and opening up".However,this collection is undervalued so far.There are only a handful of researches on it.Therefore,we take this novel collection as our main research object,adopting research methods such as text perusal and historical materials research to make a comprehensive analysis and discussion about it.This dissertation is divided into three parts.Firstly,we talk about the source of materials and the adaptation methods of this collection,and we made a confirmation that the Jiaxing Map Notes is the important origin of the stories in the collection.Moreover,we summed up that the main adaptations made by the author reflected on contemporary transformation,plot adaptations,and the change of conceptions.In the second part,we mainly discuss about the social problems reflected by the collection by focusing on the relationship between fiction and social reality.In this part,we also explore the author’s mindset and purpose of writing.And in the third part,we specifically analyzed the four major artistic features of the collection,which lead to a supplementary analysis of the value and status of Yuan-Zhu Zhi Yu Xue-chuang Tan Yi.It is this that we can constitute the importance of the collection in the literature history.
