As one of the most popular traditional folk art forms of the people in the southeast of ShanXi,the Shangdang Bayinhui is rich in performances and hot performance scenes, and it is sought after by the majority of people.Since the successful application of the national-level intangible cultural heritage in 2006,the Shangdang Bayinhui has received more attention from the academic circle and a large number of scholars, and the development trend is rapid. The research on this music matter was basically concentrated in the period from 2000 to 2010.During this period, the state issued a series of instructions on the protection of intangible cultural heritage and began to vigorously embark on the protection of folk culture. At the same time, this period of time is also the most prosperous period for the development of the Shangdang Bayinhui. The participation of relevant government departments has greatly promoted the development of folk art and left many valuable references for the latecomers of the study party. After 2010,during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period,China's economic development has undergone profound changes, and it is at a stage where there are both opportunities and unknown challenges. In this regard, from national planning to folk art, they all need to take the initiative to face challenges, adapt to environmental changes, grasp economic trends, and enhance crisis awareness. Many of the Shangdang Bayinhui troupe actively responded to the trend brought by the market economy, and made numerous innovations in the forms of performance and performance. At the same time, however,we must also note that with theacceleration of the pace of life, artists study the traditional music, opera, until to play the pop songs in their performance, this kind of change is also brought about by the market economy. This has led to the traditional Shangdang Bayinhui dramatized and ageing, amateur groups are not liked by the audience. This folk traditional music art is slowly declining. From 2010 to 2017,the traditional Shangdang Bayinhui performance group almost disappeared and replaced by a variety of the Shangdang Bayinhui Arts Troupe or cultural media performing arts companies. From the folk artistry groups in traditional villages to the private enterprises with formalized management and tax declaration, the changes in the Shangdang Bayinhui from the inside out are worth exploring. This article takes the contemporary survival status of the Shangdang Bayinhui as the research direction.Through long-term follow-up investigations on the case of the Suo Zhongxiu Performing Arts Troupe, the relevant knowledge of ethnomusicology studied by the author is used for analysis and research.Suo Zhongxiu Art Troupe is the most influential Shangdang Bayinhui performance group in ChangZhi City. Its membership, performance form, band composition, track content, income and expenditure and other aspects can all represent the survival status of the Shangdang Bayinhui performance groups and artists in Changzhi.Through investigations and interviews with the leader——Suo Zhongxiu and other artists of the troupe, the author learned that the factors that affect the development of the Shangdang Bayinhui are probably national policies, narrow audiences, and chaotic performance. These factors have constrained the activities, heritage and development of the Shangdang Bayinhui in varying degrees.Through the case study of contemporary folk art troupes, you can clearly experience local customs and folk culture in Changzhi, understand the current status and causes of the Shangdang Bayinhui artist groups, and reflect on the current development of the Shangdang Bayinhui, and also the way in which it inherits the future.Development road planning provides some ideas. At the same time,it provides reference for the inheritance and protection of other intangible cultural heritage in Changzhi.
