The Translation Of Culturally-loaded Words Of Museum Text

This paper is a case study of the Chinese-English translation of Lanling Museum text which is a brief introduction to the history of Lanling county,an ancient city in China's heartland.As the local history intertwines with its cultural development,culture plays an important role in the museum test.Therefore,there are a lot of culturally-loaded words that translators must pay great attention to.People growing up in different cultures must have a different understanding of their own culture,which may lead to misunderstandings for people from other cultures.How to appropriately convey the meaning of culturally-loaded words to foreign readers remain an obstacle to translation.In this case study,the author briefly explains the translation process of Lanling Museum Program and summarize the unique features of this text.Next,the author explains the meaning of museum text and culturally-loaded words,and divided the culturally-loaded words of this case into three kinds.Moreover,the author puts forward different translation solutions for different kinds of culturally-loaded words in order to spread Chinese culture to English-speaking people in a better way.
