| With the development of economic internationalization,international business activities have become more frequent,and the importance of business English translation has become more and more prominent.It has become a bridge for trade among all countries,and has become a guarantee for enterprises in various countries to obtain business information and exchange business insights.The main purpose of business text is to convey information,which is designed to meet the needs of specific business activities.Business reports should be accurately translated to convey useful information,and at the same time,to promote business cooperation,which requires translators to adopt appropriate translation strategies.Based on a case study of the translation of a business report published by Schneider Electric,and with reference to Reiss and Newmark’s Text Typology Theory,this article intends to analyze the textual features of business reports,and propose translation strategies for the examples extracted from the source.The author will start from a brief introduction of the project,analyzing its purpose and the target audience.In the second part,the theory of text typologies will be introduced to summarize the textual features of the text,including its main functions,language,and logic structure.Finally,according to the specific characteristics and practical experience in translation,the author will propose corresponding translation strategies,an information-centered strategy to ensure the accuracy of terminology and the appropriate choice of language style,bring about explicit logic and provide supplemental information when it is needed,and adjust the sentence patterns and word orders to improve the expressive effects.It is hoped that this paper could play a positive role in making progress for the translation of business reports. |
