Lead-in,as the beginning of a class,plays a role in English teaching by linking old and new knowledge and stimulating students' interest.In recent years,scholars at home and abroad have conducted more and more studies on the lead-in of English classes,but most of them are only about the summary of experience and theory,with few empirical studies.In addition,the research on lead-in mainly focuses on the status,principles,methods and strategies of lead-in.This paper is based on the teaching theories,affective filter hypothesis and constructivist learning theory.Starting from the new high school English course,this paper makes an investigation and analysis from six aspects: frequency,duration,method,content,resources and subjectivity.The research questions in this paper are as follows:(1)The status and characteristics of the introduction of new English course in senior high school?(2)What are the deficiencies in the introduction of new English course in senior high school?In order to solve these problems,the author selected 6 English teachers and 200 students as survey objects in the second year of high school,and collected data through classroom observation,teacher interview and student questionnaire.The research findings of this paper are as follows:(1)From the perspective of lead-in frequency,teachers' lead-in frequency is only 90%,indicating that teachers do not carry out classroom lead-in for every new lesson.(2)From the perspective of lead-in time,teachers are more casual in lead-in time,generally exceeding 5 minutes.(3)From the perspective of lead-in methods,teachers tend to use multimedia and knowledge as lead-in rather than interest and operation methods.(4)From the perspective of lead-in subjectivity,most of the lead-in activities of new classes for teachers are teacher-centered rather than student-centered.In view of the above problems,the author put forward reasonable Suggestions,and designed two lesson plans.The case analysis was made from the time,frequency,methods,resources,content and subjectivity,and the trial teaching was conducted in the class where the author interned.At the same time,after-class reflection was conducted to verify the rationality of the Suggestions.
