He Tao Ci is the prose of responding Tao Yuanming's Gui Qu Lai Xi Ci.Su Shi in the Northern Song Dynasty was the first one to respond the prose of Tao Yuanming, and he invited his literati group to respond together, thus creating the cultural tradition of Chinese He Tao Ci.He Tao Ci of Song Dynasty are the most numerous and influential. There are only three remaining works in Yuan Dynasty. The authors including Dai Liang and Wang Kekuan are all refugees, whose works distinctly show Tao Yuanming's loyalty. In Ming Dynasty, there appeared a large number of phenomena of "Responding Tao's prose after resigning from an official position",which means that He Tao Ci gradually becomes a literary creation behavior with elegant taste symbolizing high and clean personal character and indifferent to fame and wealth. On the basis of inheriting the contents of predecessors,He Tao Ci of Qing Dynasty keep innovating, and some articles could be exploited in subject matter and form of expression. He Tao Ci represents the response to Tao Yuanming's noble character and life choice, and has the symbolic significance of symbolizing seclusion. He Tao Ci is essentially the inheritance of Qu Sao's tradition. It is a kind of cultural writing behavior of anti-authoritarian and in pursuit of spiritual freedom. In a frustrating environment, literati express their noble ambition to blend with the secular world through their works, and obtain spiritual emancipation and soul purification, thus maintaining the independence of personality. This kind of struggle is not lonely. He Tao Ci's creation has the nature of group resonance from the very beginning.Su Shi's literati group experienced the emotional resonance between "ancient" and "modern","history" and"present","individual" and "group" in the creation of their works, and constantly attracted future generations of literati to enter this creative tradition of great tension and inclusiveness.
