As a global language,English plays an important role in China's secondary education.How to learn English well is the top priority of English education research.Good beginning is the half of the success.Therefore,teachers need to design ingeniously at the beginning of the course.That is to pay attention to the lead-in activity.The lead-in activity requires teachers to create learning contexts for students and to help students connect with new and old knowledge.Excellent lead-in activities can help students to improve their interest in learning,and make them concentrate their attention and stimulate their enthusiasm for learning.Therefore,lead-in activities are very important in English teaching.This study is based on the 10 th National Senior High School English Classroom Observation Course.It analyses the characteristics of its lead-in,understands the discourse characteristics of the teachers,and puts forward relevant suggestions.Let the traditional teachers of normal classes be able to refer to this and improve the quality of English teaching in senior high schools.This paper takes 30 teachers from all over the country as the research object in the lead-in activities of the national high school English classroom teaching observation course in Chongqing.It mainly adopts the literature research method and transcribes the video scripts.It analyses the types of the lead-in activities of the observation course,the discourse characteristics of the teachers in the lead-in language,and then takes the participation of the students as the reference puts forward the following three suggestions.1.What are the types of lead-in in the high school English observation class? 2.How does the teacher's discourse feature of the lead-in language behave in the high school English observation class?3.What is the degree of participation of high school students in the high school English observation class?Through research and demonstration,it is found that the activities of lead-in in the 10 th National High School English Observation Course are various,and the teachers of the observation class are very capable of using the lead-in activities.According to the different teaching contents,two or three kinds of lead-in activities are adopted by the teachers.The language which teachers spoken is accurate and logical.Teachers are able to interact with students and motivate students.Students participate actively in this class,respond to teachers with enthusiasm,and the whole teaching atmosphere is very harmonious.The research results require that the normal class teachers should pay more attention to the design of the introduction activities and improve their teaching quality.Strengthen the theoretical training and practical operation of teachers.
