Seminar,a research-and-discussion teaching method,focuses on the cooperation between teachers and students.This thesis aims to refine teaching objectives,optimize the classroom environment,explore more effective teaching mode and exam the teaching effects by combining Seminar with college English ecological classroom.Taking the reform of College English teaching as an example,the theory of positive psychology in Seminar teaching method is used to construct a new mode of classroom.The whole thesis consists of six parts.Part one is the preface which includes the studying background,the studying situation,the studying significance and a brief introduction of related researches both at home and abroad.Part two introduces the main related notions of the research,including the definition and characternstics of positive psychology,Seminar and College English Ecological Classroom.Part three puts emphasis on the analysis of some elements that influence the application of Seminar in English Ecological Classroom,like the teaching environment,large-scale class teaching,teachers' misunderstanding about English teaching as well as their not well-qualified teaching abilities,all of which cause an ineffective implementation of Seminar in college English Ecological Classroom.The fourth part,the key part of the whole thesis,introduces the design process,the role of the teachers,the participation of the students,the function of positive psychology and the function of Seminar in College English Ecological Classroom.In the fifth part some suggestions and strategies are offered about how to put Seminar into college English class,such as how to design an effective teaching mode,how to establish a good teaching environment,how to change teachers' traditional view of knowledge,how to enrich teaching contents of curriculum resources,how to exchange the roles of teachers and students,how to train"double-qualified"teaches and how to improve the supervision of the teachers so as to establish a new style of College Ecological Classroom.Both the research significance and its conclusion are in the last part,which shows that there must be some research deficiencies.Therefore,a future study about it should be done.To sum up,the application of seminar to College English Ecological Classroom is a practical and effective idea,which is helpful and essential to deal with some problems in college English classroom.Only when more and better teaching modes are explored will the college English teaching be pushed to a new height.
