A Research On Memes From The Perspective Of Folklore

With the development of modern technology,Weibo,WeChat and other social tools have become popular.The increasing number of mobile internet users has led to an increase in the number of people using memes.People choose memes in chat conversations has become a popular trend.The diversity and convenience of memes not only make it an essential part of people's social life,but also become the combination of reading trends and new media.This paper uses memes in social application such as WeChat and Weibo as the material,with the event of “Facebook Memes War”,from the perspective of folklore,under the premise of multidisciplinary theory,the author analyze the appearance and development of memes.Although the memes are still new things,it shows folklore characteristics of folk,collective,dissemination,variability,serviceability;education function,standard function,maintenance function,adjustment function are also reflected in use.The existence of “memes with folklore”makes the folklore and memes have a connection point.Through the analysis of text and images,it is found that folk language is an important part of text selection;image selection includes shadows puppet,paper cuts,New Year pictures,zodiac signs,opera masks,etc.These memes can be used to express blessings or daily use according to different contexts.Its development and use have positive implications for the inheritance of folklore in network background.They are reflected in the study on the living state of folklore and the cooperation of technology and folklore.The prosperity of memes drives social integration and the development of peripheral industries;establishes a bridge for communication between different culture and ages.It also has negative effects such as the use of infringement,vulgar content,and barriers to communication in reality.Therefore,it is imperative to regulate the use of memes.The positive effects provide a good reference for the development of the folk culture industry.In the new era of rapid information dissemination,whether new things can become new folklore,how to complete the inheritance of folklore,how to deal with the relationship between technology and folklore,these are the main content of this paper.
