| In Ming & Qing Dynasties,buddhism was combined with traditional Chinese culture and native beliefs like Taoism & Confucianism at the same time.The combination was well developed during this period of time.Liulin county,which located in Lvliang,the northwest part of Shanxi province,was one of the commercial centres of this area,and also turned out cultural exchanges.The speed of the developing and the influence of buddhism in this area is typical and individual.The integrating and analysing of the materials about the buddhism structures and relics after investgating in this place,which combined with related literature and inscriptions on a tablet,comes out the process and reasons of the changing and developing of buddhism after demonstrating.What’s more,the influence and vitality of it in the county is explored through the visiting and information-gathering among local people with the administrators and employees of the cultural relic protection units as well.The combination with different writings and related materials that not only limited in the single county leads to the analysing and descripting about the process and reasons of the popularization and secularization of buddhism,with the ifluence spreaded.Finally,it comes out that is prosperous and influential the buddhism developed in the area.And the influence of the religion not only during the two dynasties,but also lasts till today.The main characteristic is the combination of the belief of Avalokitesvara and many local gods,it makes the belief an multi-gods one,which developed and spread flourishingly and widely.The whole reason is the special location and high commercial position,as a traffic hub and one of business centres beside the Yellow River. |
