The existential construction is a kind of special sentence pattern in modern Chinese.It has special structure,special requirements for verbs,and special expression functions.Although there are fruitful results in the study of existential construction,there is less research on existential construction in Chinese international education.Nowadays,the study of the existential construction in the Chinese as a foreign language is mostly based on language comparison and learner’s error analysis.This paper focus on the teaching materials of Chinese as a foreign language.And the author makes statistics and analysis on the existential construction in the teaching materials.Combining with the errors of learners,the author tries to explore the errors of existential construction caused by the compiling of teaching materials of Chinese as foreign language.Therefore,it gives the corresponding opinions on the compilation of Chinese teaching materials.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction.This part mainly expounds the significance,research purposes,research methods and so on.In addition,this part summarizes the present situation of the studies of the existential construction in Chinese,the teaching of the existential construction in Chinese as a second language,and the researches of the compilation of teaching materials for individual Chinese grammar.The second part is the error analysis of the existential construction.The third part is to compare the examples,grammar explanations,practices and other aspects of the selected teaching materials.And the author tries to find ways to reduce the error of learners’ existential construction by improving the compilation of teaching materials.Combining the second with third parts,that is to say,by analyzing the errors of the learners’ existential construction,and comparing the corresponding contents of the teaching materials,the author explored some problems in the compilation of teaching materials on existential construction in Chinese.Through the analysis on these questions comes to the fourth part: the suggestions about the existential construction in the compilation of teaching materials and classroom teaching strategies.Suggestions on the compilation of teaching materials mainly relate to the order,grammar explanations and practices.The teaching order of the existential construction is that learners can firstly learn the "是" sentences,then the "有" sentences,then the "V着" structure,and finally the "place word + V + auxiliary word/complement + quantity phrase + NP" structure.When explaining the grammar,we should try to avoid descriptive text and some linguistic professional terms,show the structures directly,and use some intuitive pictures or charts,especially for errors that may occur in foreign learners.At the same time,we should explain the limits of using the structure and give learners more examples to understand and practice.In the practice part,the author thinks that we should use different practice methods in different teaching stages.The emphasis of the initial and intermediate stages of practice should be on speech skills training.At the senior stage,some challenging exercises that learners can complete should be arranged to improve the learner’s learning level.
