Dong Zhai Ji Shi is a note about the facts of the Northern Song Dynasty that written by FanZhen.FanZhen grew up in Chengdu,so people called him Fan Shugong respectfully.He is an outstanding person that worked for four emperors,including Renzong,Yingzong,Shenzong and Zhezong.FanZhen died at the age of eighty-one,and obtain a posthumous name: ZhongWen.Dong Zhai Ji Shi was finished between XiNing and YuanFeng period in the Song Dynasty which was recorded in many books.Most of the books divided it into novel of Zi radical.Dong Zhai Ji Shi have ten volumes before it's lost,while now it has six.Today we can find six editions of this note,both of them are come from Yong Le Da Dian.In these editions,The series of Shou Shan Ge is the best.The contents of Dong Zhai Ji Shi are numerous and complex,including the story of the Northern Song Dynasty,the system of laws and regulations,the anecdotes of the scholars,the local customs,the poems and the allusions,the ghosts and the gods,etc.Among them,the contents of the laws and regulations are rich,compared it with the historical records such as The Continue of History As A Mirror and The History of Song Dynasty,which can supplement the records of other history books.Besides,it provides important reference for studying the folk culture of the Song Dynasty,such as festival customs,belief,people's livelihood and the production of famous places.Of course,part of the note are also lost in the detailed examination,and it's necessary to revise the points of the Zhonghua Book Company for punctuation errors.
