Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China is an annual gathering of distinguished overseas Chinese from all walks of life.Starting from the year2001,its aim is to exchange ideas and promote development.Wuhan has always been the place where the grand meeting has been held since its very beginning.The year 2016 saw the convening of the 16~thh conference and the author served as the liaison and interpreter for the Swedish delegation that comprises of four Chinese Swedish and four Swedish experts.This report is based on the on-site consecutive interpreting performed by the author for the Swedish special introduction and promotion session of the conference,during which all of the four Swedish experts came onto the stage to introduce their professional fields covering consulting,human resources,nuclear power plant and education.After describing the interpretation task and the interpretation process,the report discussed the major difficulties the author had encountered during the interpreting process including accent,short-term memory overload and lexical gaps Then the methods of solving these problems under the guidance of Gile's Efforts Model and Comprehension Equation as well as the Interpretive Theory were discussed and exemplified.Finally,the author proposed four remaining problems to be solved and implications for future studies.All in all,the author found out that her study and analysis of the difficulties she had encountered were special in this interpreting practice and still the discussion of this practice is helpful for learners as well as researchers in the interpreting field.
