In order to correctly use words and communicate with people,it is pivotal to understand the meaning of words.There is a close relationship between the compound lexical meaning and its’ componential morphemes’ meaning.There are some combination rules in compound words,which are mainly manifested in the following aspects: the first one is the relationships between componential morphemes;the other is the relationships of meaning between compounds and its’ componential morpheme.The rules are keys to effectively understand the lexical meaning of compounds.What’s more,vocabulary in teaching mainly come from the outline of the Grade Vocabulary for HSK(the outline of HSK for short).Modified compound are used widely,and its’ formation is the most productive.Hence,there is great significance for teaching and learning to research modified compounds in the outline of HSK.The thesis has taken modified compounds in the outline of HSK as object,studying its semantic structure of componential morphemes,relationships between morpheme meaning and modified compounds’ lexical meaning.The paper puts forward the concrete teaching strategies on the basis of the above results.In the semantic relationship aspect,firstly,the semantic relationships between componential morphemes of modified compounds has been analyzed by using quantitative analysis method.It is concluded that modifier morphemes qualify central morpheme in the possessive,color,quantity,time,scope,way,degree,property and so on.Secondly the meaning of relationship between modified compounds and its’ componential morpheme has been analyzed and sumed up the three kinds of semantic relations: morpheme meaning directly express lexical meaning of modified compounds;the morpheme meaning indirectly phrase lexical meaning of modified compounds;three is that the morpheme meaning lost in compounds’ lexical meaning.In the practive investigation aspect,two questionnaires associated with thesis have been designed.It is proved that students of elementary and intermediate chinese level have morphological awareness in their minds.And with vocabulary accumulation,they have the ability to guess the meaning of new words through morpheme learned.In teaching methods aspect,according to the results of the questionnaires and the semantic relationship between modified compounds and componential morphemes,three teaching strategies are put forward : one is morpheme teaching method;the other is the method of analogy expansion;the three is the whole interpretation method.This paper have comprehensively researched the semantic relations of modified compounds in the outline of HSK.At the same time,the study provides effective methods of teaching of for modified compounds,which is of great practical significance.
