Due to its special geographical and cultural environment,Dali Xizhou Bai traditional residential buildings show unique national culture and national characteristics.As a typical representative of traditional Chinese residential buildings,Dali Bai traditional residential buildings have very high research value and significance.As an architectural decoration art,sculpture is also a symbol of culture.It not only reflects the evolution of history,but also reflects the diverse geographical culture formed by the Bai people in special historical background and social environment feature.In this thesis,the carving images of Xiju Bai traditional houses are taken as the research object,and the living environment and historical background of engraving images are analyzed according to the natural environment and humanistic environment of Xizhou white houses.Through the field survey and literature search,the theme of the carvings of traditional residential buildings in the Bai people are sorted out and categorized.The decorative motifs unique to this place are described.The special compositions of rabbits,including Chih-wei,Horseshoe,and Fengxian Long Decorative arts on the narrative structure of the initiative to choose,behind its rich cultural content.On this basis,explore its style and causes.Xizu Bai traditional buildings as a witness to history.In the process of design and construction,it reflects the conscious approval and actual follow-up of the ancient culture.A large number of Bogu images appear in the carved images,showing a "graceful style".What seems paradoxical is that the details of the image are complicated and the density is concentrated,presenting a kind of "luxury style".Both the aesthetic taste of vulgarity and elegance coexist in the art of carving.Tracing back to its origin should be a social concept that started in the Ming Dynasty with the Confucianism and Jia being connected.In the context of the integration of scholars and merchants in the social history,the interaction between literati and folklore is reflected in the carving art of the traditional residential buildings,which is the dual style of "elegant style" and"luxurious style." In the way of image presentation,the use of multi-layer carved openwork sculpture skills,change the traditional "two-dimensional" plane composition,the image of the three-dimensional and more participatory,well-structured visual experience.Finally,the carved images are placed in the architectural space to discuss the integration of carving art and architectural space.As a part of the whole building,the carving art is in harmony and unified with the architectural space,showing a unified "functional and aesthetic" "," Isomorphism of Architecture Space and Mental Space "and" Unity of Practical Beauty and Artistic Beauty ".The article runs through three parallel contexts of "theme","style" and"space".By means of image analysis,form analysis and symbolic analysis,the paper explores the forms and meanings of carving images of traditional houses in Bai nationality,Implied in the image,such as ethnic,geographical,customs,ideas,religion and other content.
