Comparative Study Of Regional Folklore In Geographical Miscellanies Of Southern Song Dynasty

Under the classification of the History of "Siku Quanshu Zongmu Tiyao",there are 28 volums of "Miscellanies",of which 1/4 were occupied by the Southern Song Dynasty.These "miscellanies" are of great research value.Through the division of time and region,this paper deconstructs five miscellanies about Lin’an and Guangxi in the Southern Song Dynasty("Gui Hai Yu Heng Zhi","Lin Wai Dai Da","Du Cheng Ji Sheng","Meng Liang Lu","Wu Lin Jiu Shi").From these miscellanies related to social life and customs and customs of the materials,focus is laid on the comparison of folk differences in Lin’an and Guangxi.Although the comparative perspective of "city and region" is used,it can be found that the difference of folk customs between the two places is actually the difference of people’s living state,whose core folklore foundation is people.This kind of difference can be employed to understand the sharp contrast between Lin’an and Guangxi in the regional folklore,which provides a starting point for us to study the culture of Lin’an and Guangxi.The comparative research method adopted in this paper,on one hand,is the tendency comparison from small to large.This macroscopic folk custom analysis deepens the understanding of all kinds of folklore recorded in Miscellanies.On the other hand,in order to highlight the differences between the two places,it is necessary to pass through some subtle concrete folk comparisons to produce the effect of comparison.The regional folklore comparison of this paper mainly revolves around three big aspects: the difference of dress and diet in the folk customs of the two places;the marriage,the social organization and the festival difference in the social folklore;the difference of the spiritual folklore in the belief and the recreation folk custom.Through the comparison of the three aspects of folklore,the paper further discusses the reasons for the difference of regional folklore between the two places.What needs to be explained is that "region" is the premise of the difference,but some external factors also play an important role.Finally,it discusses the folklore inheritance from the regional perspective,and on the basis of region,folklore heritage analysis is conducted from the Southern Song Dynasty to the modern time.Beside,limitations and strengths of understanding about folklore in "Geography Miscellanies" are expounded.Finally,through the comparison and analysis,the author strives to find out the difference between the "border people" and the "people" in the political center of the Lingnan in the same period,and through this kind of regional perspective,author works to confirm the law of the development of folk customs in the two places.A glimpse of the folklore change in a long-term but limited by the situation of the region will be gain,Also,the folklore in two places is still in constant development and change,this inheritance and variability will also continue to affect the folk customs of the two places.
