A Translation Report On World Facts(Excepts)

The report consists of two main parts: first,the translation of Page 81-Page155 in the book World Facts edited by Dr.James Mackay;second,based on the translation,a report was written which includes the process of translation,analysis of translation and comments on the translation and so on.The text is both an informative text and a vocative text,covering a wealth of content,such as art,geography,the natural world,history and humanities,and even science and technology have a basic introduction.This book is an encyclopedic.There are many special names and long sentences in the book.In the process of translation,due to differences in Chinese and English language,it brings a certain degree of difficulty;this article is guided by teleology.Discuss the translation strategies adopted in terms of words,sentences,texts,and pragmatics,and combine specific case studies,and at the same time try to study and summarize the difficulties encountered in translation;this report is divided into four parts.Partly: The first chapter is the task description,including the author's introduction,translation introduction,requirements,translation requirements and research significance;Chapter two is translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation tools,difficulties encountered in translation and proofreading;the third chapter is case study.Under the guidance of the skopos theory,the paper analyzes and deals with the difficulties encountered during the translation process.The last chapter,for the summary part,summarizes the problems encountered in the translation practice and the implications for the future.In addition,some of the translation materials,including the original text and translation,are attached in the appendix.
