| As the pioneer of modern neo-Confucianism,Liang Shuming spent his entire lifeexploring the value and seeking the transition of Chinese culture which is represented by Confucianism,looking for solutions to problems of life and Chinese society,and putting his academic theory into practice to carry out the Rural Construction Movement to save the spiritual life of the Chinese and Chinese society by reviving Confucianism.This article takes Liang Shuming’s perspective of Confucianism as the research view and starts from the following parts: The first part is about research background,research status and research methods.Liang Shuming’s life experiences,major works and ideological transitions are introduced in the second part.The third part describes Liang Shuming’s definition and interpretation of Confucianism,and then make comparisons between Liang Shuming and two scholars from their different perspectives of Confucianism.In essence,Confucianism is a practical theory about human inner morality.Then the functions of Confucianism from the perspective of Liang Shuming are discussed.Confucianism advocates the attitude of "Following Intuition" and "Benevolence" and make people gain real happiness through self-reflection.In the external society,Confucianism replaces religion with morality and inspires people’s moral rationality,thereby educating the social groups to live consciously and autonomously,develop national life and unite ethnic groups.The fifth part is about the comparison among the Western culture,Chinese culture and Indian culture by Liang Shuming and he always believed Confucianism would revive in the future.The last part is about the judgment and modern significance of Liang Shuming’s perspective of Confucianism.Liang Shuming inherited the Confucianism from the school of Wang Yangming and used the terms of Western philosophy to interpret it to realize transformation.Although there are certain limitations and deficiencies,the brilliant points in his thoughts and the way he interpreted the Confucianism and the unique cultural research path are of reference significance for our current revival of traditional culture. |
