| Among the Chinese intellectuals in the 20 th century,there were few people who consistently wrote a diary and left a relatively complete record.Among them,Wu Mi’s diary is undoubtedly of high historical value.The 20 copies of the "Diary of Wu Mi" and the sequel not only truly record the details of his daily life,personal knowledge,thoughts and feelings,and social connections,but also involves a large number of literary creations,historical social changes,and information on the fate of his life.These details make history full of sense of flesh and reality.And they are the smallest and best footnotes of the historical changes in the period of the Republic of China and the period of People’s Republic of China.The Wu Mi’s diary during the Anti-Japanese War is a typical “big literature” text in which personal discourse and the times were intertwined.On the one hand,it not only records the mentality of Wu Mi as an ordinary person in the anti-Japanese salvation,but also infiltrates the sadness and desolate feelings of Wu Mi’s life.Otherwise,it includes his moral feelings of worrying the country and the people.On the other hand,it presents the real life images of the intellectuals during the Anti-Japanese War,and it also reflects the unique frustration and bitterness of the "men and women" in the context of the great turbulent times.This article is based on the "big literature" view to observe the Wu Mi’s Diary during the Anti-Japanese War.Using Wu Mi’s diary and other data as an entry point,the paper pays attention to the living conditions of the academic intellectuals in troubled times and examines the mentality changes,emotional changes,spiritual changes which the war brought to them.Otherwise,it also focuses on the impact of these changes to their outlook on world,life,and literary perspective.Of course,the final purpose is revealing the propositions of individual survival and nation-state during the Anti-Japanese War.This article is divided into three parts: introduction,subject,and conclusion.As follows:The introduction mainly includes three aspects: one is the concept and related views;another is the status of research on the theme of the paper;the third is the reason and significance of the topic of the paper.The main body is divided into six chapters:Chapter Ⅰ: Entanglement and hesitation: The “going” and “staying” of intellectuals in the big era.This chapter mainly discusses the mentality changes of academic intellectuals that brought by war and migration after the Lugouqiao Incident.It is four months from the Lugouqiao Incident to the start-up of Changsha Temporary University.The academic intellectuals’ mood was delicate and complex.“Going” or “staying” is propositions that each of them is thinking about.This is not only their cultural choices but also their struggles and embarrassment in troubled times.Chapter Ⅱ: Wandering strays: The changes of intellectuals’ mentality on the South-West Migration.This chapter mainly discusses their pains and mentality changes and the cultural and spiritual significance of the “South-West Migration”.On the way to the South,intellectuals are filled with panic and fear.On the westward move,intellectuals are filled with desolateness and despondency.In a complex state of mind,intellectuals have completed the migration of the three schools and have also achieved the spiritual value and cultural significance of “South-West Migration”.Chapter Ⅲ: Lonely and Exhausted: the daily life of intellectuals in the big era.This chapter mainly takes “Wu Mi Diary” as the object of study.It not only reappears the bitterness and pain behind the living of academic intellectuals in the Anti-Japanese War,but also reflects an ordinary person’s resistance to the times.Otherwise,it explores the spiritual changes and literary sentiments of intellectuals in the predicament.Chapter Ⅳ: War Threats: The “bombing life” of people in the great times.This chapter focuses on the changes brought by the Big Bombing to academic intellectuals.By studying Wu Mi’s Diary,we can learn about the changes in people’s living environment in the context of the Big Bombing in the Anti-Japanese War.We can explore the mentality changes of the “running alert”,the meanings behind amateur activities at the “running alert”.More importantly,we can realize the attitudes and humanistic care of the intellectuals in the Anti-Japanese War.Chapter Ⅴ: loneliness and sincerity: The emotions and love of intellectuals in the big era.This chapter mainly discusses Wu Mi’s emotional state during the Anti-Japanese War.Undoubtedly,the unharmonious family,unresolved love,and sincere friendship have affected Wu Mi’s outlook on literary and life.Investigating the emotions of Wu Mi during the Kunming period could help readers to understand the loneliness in his heart,his concept of love or marriage and the inevitability of lovetragedy.Besides,it can help readers to comprehend the consolation and support which is brought by friendship to the intellectuals in the Anti-Japanese War.Chapter Ⅵ: Changes and Invariability: the ambition and career of the intellectuals in the era.This chapter mainly examines Wu Mi’s ambition and career in the Anti-Japanese War.It explores the unique efforts made by Wu Mi in the Anti-Japanese War through three aspects,including nationality and nation,morality and humanity,literature and living.Of course,it also presents his considerations of the national,the society and the people.Finally,it reveals that the intellectuals’ features which are different from warriors and closer to human nature.The conclusion part summarizes the whole article.It takes Wu Mi as a research object,mainly exploring in the uniform narrative framework of
