| The Level Three of the New Chinese Proficiency Test(referred to new HSK)is an important standard for Chinese learners to learn Chinese from primary to intermediate levels.It is also a necessary requirement for foreign students to study in China.The new HSK level 3 is of great significance to the Chinese learners’ life and Chinese learning.Washback(or backwash)refers to the impact of testing on teaching and learning,and later this concept is quoted in the field of Applied Linguistics,especially the influence of language testing,like foreign language testing,on the teaching and learning of the corresponding foreign languages.There are positive washback and negative washback.The author takes the Romanian Chinese students as the research object,and studies the impact of the new HSK level 3 on the Chinese language majors,analyzes their washback effects,and expects to give effective advice to the teaching and learning of the Chinese language majors in Romania.This paper draws on the wash back research at home and abroad,uses questionnaires and interviews to collect empirical data,analyzes the washback effect of HSK Level 3 on Chinese Major students in Romania.and discuss the following questions:Firstly,does the new HSK level 3 have a washback on Chinese learning of Chinese major students in Romania? If there is,how does it work? If there is no,why?Secondly,what are the learning strategies adopted by the new HSK level 3 takers of Chinese Major in Romania? Are there any differences in the use of strategies? If so,what are the differences? What are the reasons for the difference?Thirdly,what is the result of the examination of the new HSK level 3 for Chinese major students in Romania? Is it in line with the purpose of the new HSK level 3 test and the expectations of the subjects?The study indicates that the new HSK level 3 has a strong washback on the first junior Chinese major students in Romania,and the intensity of the new HSK level 3 washback is influenced by various factors such as the purpose of examination,the environmental factors and the cognition of the new HSK level 3 testtakers,and the positive washback effect is larger than the negative one.The new HSK level 3 promotes Chinese major students to adjust Chinese learning strategies,enhance the motivation of Chinese learning,learn rich and practical language expression,improve their Chinese in a short time,and can deal with the basic communication tasks in life and learning.But for a few students who are not good at adjusting their psychological emotions,the new HSK level 3 increases their psychological burden,which makes them feel nervous and afraid of the bad sense of shame,and therefore affects the test results and their Chinese learning.According to the research results,the author puts forward some pertinent suggestions on Chinese learning and teaching. |
