“Language imitation” is an important way of language learning,and “Fun Dubbing APP” is a special form of language imitation,and a better way to learn English well.Fun Dubbing APP as a new kind English learning APP,with rich and colorful video materials and full-featured configuration,is loved by the majority of English learners,and more and more teachers use Fun Dubbing APP in their teaching.However,among domestic related works,the use of Fun Dubbing APP is mainly in the college English audio-visual class,but rarely used in junior high school English teaching.The study took students from a natural class in a junior high school as the teaching objects.By means of tests and interviews,it carried on one-semester period of Fun Dubbing APP English teaching,which attempted to answer:(1)How well does Fun Dubbing APP help students to improve English proficiency?(2)To what extent does the Fun Dubbing APP teaching help students improve their listening and speaking skills?(3)In what ways does Fun Dubbing APP help to promote students' emotional factors?(4)In what aspects does Fun Dubbing APP teaching need to be improved?The study found that after the implementation of the Fun Dubbing APP teaching,the overall English level and listening and speaking ability of the whole class were significantly improved.There were significant differences in total scores,listening scores and oral scores,and there were significant differences in the overall score;for the Group of Successful Learners,There were significant differences in total scores and oral scores,but no significant difference in listening scores;for the Group of Ordinary Learners,there were significant differences in total scores,listening scores,and oral scores;for the Group of Less Successful Learners,there was no significant difference in total scores,listening scores and oral scores.Through interviews,it was found that Fun Dubbing App teaching did exert positive influence in promoting the learners' affective factors,yet there still existed problem as follows: during the process of selecting dubbing materials,the needs of different levels students were not well considered;teachers did not choose proper materials,and the dubbing is too difficult for the Group of Less Successful Learners;the feedback of Fun Dubbing App teaching was not observed in time,and the teaching practice had not achieved an desirable effect.So there was no effective improvement of them.Finally,basing on the research findings,the author proposes some suggestions on how to improve Fun Dubbing APP teaching from the selection of dubbing materials,the teachers' competence in using modern network technologies,and the necessity of conducting of teaching feedback and teaching reflections.
