Bamboo In The Contemporary Sculpture Creation Application Research

Bamboo is widely used in Chinese life,from elegant musical instruments in the hands of literati to the thick farm tools in the woodcutter’s home.All of them are made of bamboo.As well as the relationship between bamboo and Chinese poetry,song,book,painting and garden construction,the long history of Chinese culture and bamboo formed a unique and colorful Chinese bamboo culture.It is the special aesthetic value of bamboo,which is better broken than bent,hallow and straight,fearless of hardships,and not afraid of adversity.In classical civilization,bamboo has not only ethical and religious implications,but also a literary term.This thesis takes "bamboo" as the characteristic of sculpture creation material,including its cultural interpretation in the contemporary sculpture creation application research as the main clue throughout the full text.In the introduction part,the thesis focuses on the significance and value of"bamboo" as the material,the present situation of bamboo sculpture creation,and the basis and innovative attempt of my topic selection.In Chapter 1.We teased the geographical distribution,growth environment and species of bamboo,and its traditional and modern processing technology.In Chapter 2.I collected and studies the application of bamboo in contemporary craft creation through field trip,accumulated experience and samples,to provide a favorable reference for the creation.In Chapter 3 mainly introduces the selection of bamboo material in sculpture creation,including personal processing tools and technology research.In Chapter 4.Using the material experiment and creation practice of bamboo sculpture,this thesis explores the expression language,modeling characteristics and special cultural interpretation of "bamboo" in contemporary sculpture creation.The last part is the conclusion,a simple summary of the full text,summarized my research results in these three years.
