As the “Go Global” strategy and the “Belt and Road” initiative advance, the demand for translation grows increasingly. In order to bring out a qualified translation,a scientific translation theory is required, which promises a scientific translation process. In this translation practice, the source texts are two academic papers from Anna Trosborg’s Text Typology And Translation,namely,J.C.Sager’s “Text Types and Translation” and the first half of Christine Nord’s “A Functional Typology of Translation”.Through translating the two theoretical theses, the author tries to introduce a new and scientific theoretical guidance for Chinese translators to do translation practice by analyzing the text type of the source text first and then adopting corresponding translation strategy and skills.Since the source text is an informative one,its purpose is to introduce new theoretical findings of translation. Therefore, the author applies skopos theory, put forward by Vermeer,a representative of German functional translation theory, and flexibly adopts relevant translation strategies and skills to better convey the author’s original intention and make the target text more readable. This report is composed of five chapters.Chapter Ⅰ is a brief introduction of the source text and the purpose and significance of this translation project.Chapter Ⅱintroduces the process of translation.Chapter Ⅲ elaborates the translation theory, the skopos theory.Chapter Ⅳ is case analysis of the difficult parts in this translation practice. And Chapter Ⅴ gives a final conclusion about the gains of this translation practice and the limitation of this report.
