"Shadow" With Beautiful Colour

After Mr.Li Youxing left and returned from France,he created a set of decorative color teaching system combining the art idea of French school with Chinese craft design,black shadow painting and monochrome(black and white ash).Sketching,color limiting and color repainting are respectively the four major plates under the teaching system of decorative color sketching by Mr.Li Youxing.Among which,the black shadow sketch is the essential basic sketch practice step that can arrive at the " palace hall" of color demarcation after the black shadow sketch training.This paper applied the literature analysis method,the image interpretation method and the contrast analysis method to study the development of the black shadow painting and elaborated the black shadow painting teaching function and the esthetic function to deeply understand the black shadow essence through the study on the style features and the creation way of Mr.Li Youxing’s black shadow painting.The purpose of Mr.Li Youxing’s creation of black shadow sketch is to train students’ observation ability and skills on picture layout and frame structure through sketching,and to show more contemporary diversification of black shadow painting under the inheritance and development of his disciples.In combing the opinions and performance of his predecessors in the dark shadow of Li Youxing,Li Youxing’s black shadow paintings were regarded as the source of the research.This paper discusses the domestic and foreign decorative colors related to the modern and contemporary dark shadows to find the feasibility of their own creative performance and innovative ways & means of expression.Through the horizontal and vertical study of black shadow painting,it is helpful to analyze the development of shadow painting in an all-round way to understand the form expression of black shadow painting in contemporary art at home and abroad and explore its related decorative color expressions.After studying the concept of contemporary decorative color and aesthetic interest,the author carried on his own exploration on creative form based on the black shadow painting from the composition,color,materials,texture and related aspects.Among them,the author holds that the combination of black shadow and contemporary decorative color form could collide with more possibilities.For example,some abstract elements such as contemporary abstract elements could be added to the form of realistic black shadow expression and so forth.Therefore,the author combined with the expression of a series of artistic practice in the creation of dark shadow and decorative color.The exploration of this practice may be divided into the following phases: The concrete and realistic expression of the black shadow;The subjective manifestation of the shadow;Background color experiment stage;Stage of abstract expression;Media addition stage;A decorative color phase with a dark shadow element.These six stages are in the process of gradually moving the traditional shadow representation to the contemporary expression process.Finally,reflection and summary are made according to the author’s own creative process and works.The form of expression of the black shadow to its own creation,not only will present the greatest achievements of Mr.Li’s art education to the world,but also will add new fruit for decorative color creation by the analysis and reuse of its essence.
