On The Religious Trait Of Print

The creative process of print has a rigorous technical process and unique artistic features,and it is an art that requires full mobilization of body and mind.In this paper,we hope to get into the deep connection between print and people to interpret the features of prints.Body and mind are two basic elements for human participating in artistic creation.How to interpret body and mind and how to construct relationship between two of them,have become the difficult problems for creators to avoid,especially in the creation of print.In the analytical of psychology,C.G.Jung explained to us possibility and necessity of unity of body and mind under the influence of eastern thought.Through its "Prototype" theory,we can see that religious functions are still in operation in new and hidden ways in current society.In the history of art,the rise and fall of print is inseparable from human psychological development and religious development.It shows people’s cognitive changes to their own mind and body in an artistic way,with the psychological perspective to analyze the psychological motivation in the print creation and the psychological impact of print,making people rediscover themselves.It is necessary to understand various factors in the print in a more macroscopic view.By his analytical psychology,Jung made a clear distinction theory between the two main categories,namely,conscious and unconscious,and put forward the view of “Self” on the basis of four basic conceptions including sensation,intuition,thinking and feeling.Self is the core of personality,and its development combines the development of religion function.And the perfection of personal personality needs the development of Self.In his theory,the development of an artist’s mind also requires the development of the artist’s spiritual development.In modern life,religion function becomes a disadvantage,but how the print creation realize the development of creator’s religion function becomes a key to show the full expression function of the print.This paper traced historical relationship and psychological relation between print and religion.Compared Jung’s views with religious views of William James’ "Two-degree Arrival" in the framework of analytical psychology,the author reinterpreted religious trait in the print,analyzed uniformity of body and mind,integrated various elements of the print,making every possibility to obtain a more comprehensive and complete creation viewpoint in the print so as to mobilize all the factors that can provide value for creation and provide a kind of introspective and complete creative perspective for print creation.The author divided the print into printworks,printmakers,printmaking process and print value,analyzed the relationship between print,religion,body and psychology by analytical psychology and interpreted religious trait of the print with uniformity of mind and body.The print under the perspective of analytical psychology is a more complete artistic activity with deep psychological value,religious trait and uniformity of mind and body.After reviewing religious trait of the print,we will get some new theoretical perspectives of creation,find new direction of creation,and lay a theoretical foundation for our own print creation.
