The Influence Of Social Class On Prosocial Behavior And Its Mechanism Exploration

Social class(social class)refers to the difference between people in social life status,it depends on the individual possession of material wealth of society,social resources(income,education and occupation),when compared with others,perceived their status in the society,this study adopts the experimental method and questionnaire method to investigate the social stratum affect prosocial behavior,and to explore the mediating effect in the sense of control,and the regulating effect of empathy.The research is divided into four parts.First,social stratum is measured by questionnaires,and the prosocial behavior is measured by dictator game paradigm.The influence of social class on prosocial behavior is preliminarily tested.By manipulating the subjects perceived relative social class of two,generous donation to measure prosocial behavior,to further expand the influence of social class on pro-social behavior.In study three,we tried to explore how social strata affect Pro social behavior and investigate the mediating effect of sense of control in it.Study four attempts to further explore the mechanism based on social stratum differences in Pro social behavior,whether empathy will promote action and examine the role of empathy.The results of the experiment are as follows:(1)the social class formed by individuals affects their prosocial behavior tendency.It shows that compared with the low social class,the higher social class individuals tend to be prosocial.(2)relative social stratum perception affects Prosocial behavior.Compared with the lower class,the relatively high class individuals showed more generosity.(3)the social stratum affects the sense of control,the sense of control affects the prosocial behavior of the individual,and the sense of control plays a mediating role between the social stratum and the prosocial behavior.(4)compassion affects Prosocial behavior.Under the feeling of sympathy,the individuals of the high and low social strata all show higher Pro social behavior,and the difference is not significant.Compassion moderates the relationship between social class and prosocial helpingbehavior...
