A Report On The Translation Of 2017 Apple Corporate Social Responsibility

This report is a reflection of my E-C translation of the article 2017 Apple Corporate Social Responsibility Report.Corporate social responsibility reports,which originate from corporate environment report,is a kind of comprehensive non-financial report.The translation of this report can help corporations convey their culture and values,improve popularity and influence,attract investment and boost performance.Hence,it’s of great significance to translate social responsibility report.Corporate social responsibility reports are important media that corporations use to show their core values and strategy and the key bridge for the communication between the corporation and its stakeholders.The content of corporate social responsibility reports often includes general introduction of the company,executive statement,concept of corporate responsibility,corporate strategy and governance,sometimes even involve interested parties and analysis of risk opportunities.With guiding by contrastive studies between English and Chinese,I aim to translate the report accurately and coherently.In addition,this report also uses translation skills and translation theory that are adopt during the translation practice to analyze translated text.There are five chapters of this translation report: Chapter one of the report is an overall introduction to the translation project and chapter two is the description of source text.The third chapter explain the process of translation,including the preparation I made before translation,related researches of translation information and analysis of the characteristic of source text from perspective of words,sentences and language features.Chapter four is the main part of this report,exploring the obstacles and strategies of translation process and analyzing by means of listing related cases.The last chapter is conclusion,summarizing what I gained from this translation practice and pointing out insufficiency that should be made up.All in all,the author expects to apply the applicable translation skills and translation theory to expound the particular difficulties that encountered in this source text and put forth specific solution to these difficulties.So as to have a vital significance for the translation practice and study of the text of the same kind in the future.
