Experimental Study On The Emotional Response Of Triads Of Size

The emotional definition of psychological description is the complex reaction of individuals to external stimuli.It is a multicomponent compound process and a biological reaction,which contains subjective experience,external performance and physiological arousal.Music works are composed of music elements.Music elements include pitch,intonation,timbre,rhythm,melody,tune,harmony,etc.The different presentation of each music element causes different emotional responses of the listener.Among them,chords,as the indispensable music elements in music,have important influences on music structure and music style of music works.“Chords” represents the combination of notes,describing the vertical(in the structure of a chord or chord interval)and the horizontal(in the relationship between the intervals or chords)of the high and low pitches.The triad is the most common form of all chords,consisting of a combination of root,third,and five to form major triads and minor triads.The experimental results of many researchers have shown that the major triads tend to induce positive emotional responses,while minor triads tend to induce negative emotional responses.The transposition of chords,the intervals of chords,the amplitudes of chords,and the stress of chords can also cause the emotional responses of the subjects.The Viennese classical period began in 1750 and ended in 1827.It was dominated by Haydn,Mozart,and Beethoven,who are known as the “three Vienna”.Music style gradually changed from religious music to secular music,and music creation gradually changed from polyphonic music to advocate tone music.The music works in Vienna classic period are delicate,elegant,symmetrical,and rich in the atmosphere of natural folk life.They emphasize the symmetrical beauty on the basis of rationality,and express less personal feelings.The form of these work is rigorous,the logic is strict,and the artistic technique is concise.The classical chords of Vienna aremainly composed of internal chords,among which,the triads are most frequently used,and the seventh chord is partly used.Therefore,this paper applies empirical research to explore the different emotional responses to major triads and minor triads by taking the piano sonanta in the classical period of Vienna as the experimental material.The experiment selects 13 "Vienna sanjay" piano sonata,and the music fragments adopted include 3 to 6 sections.In this experiment,2(major triad and minor chord)x 2(male and female)is used to design the mixed experiment,and the internal variables are used.The material order is completely random generated by using SAS9.4software to measure the emotional response intensity of the same music segments of different chord types.Conclusions:1.The music segment of major triad is positive emotional response.2.The music segment of minor minor triad is a negative emotional reaction.3.There was no significant difference in emotional response intensity between the participants of different genders when listening to music segments of major triads.4.When the participants of different genders listened to the music segment of the triad,the female’s emotional response intensity was significantly greater than that of the male.Experimental results of experiment ii.,The experimental materials still use 13 "Vienna sanjay" piano sonata,and the music fragments adopted include 3 to 6 sections.Each music fragment has two versions: the main tone major and the same tonic.The chords in the major music section are major triads.The chords in the minor music section are minor triads.Other factors remain unchanged.The experiment was designed with mixed experiments,2(triad: major triad,minor triad)×4(Pitch movement: the major moves up eight degrees,the major moves down eight degrees,the minor moves up eight degrees,the minor moves down eight degrees.)and used the tested variables.The material order is completely random generated by using SAS9.4 software,and the influence of changeable pitch on the emotional reaction intensity was measured.Conclusions:1.The emotional response of music segments with the overall pitch reduction of octave was positive,and its intensity was significantly lower than that of the major triad with no pitch changes.2.The emotional response of music segments with the overall pitch increase of octave was positive,and its intensity was significantly increased compared with that ofthe large triad with no pitch changes.3.The emotional response of the small triad music segment with the overall pitch reduction of octave was negative,and the intensity of the triad was significantly increased compared with that of the small triad with no pitch changing.4.The emotional response of music segments with the overall pitch rise of octave was negative,and its intensity was significantly lower than that of the small triad with no pitch changing.
