Conscientiousness has always been regarded as a personality trait which is highly related to social achievement and academic performance.Research shows that both gene and environment influence the formation and development of individual conscientiousness. In the early days, researches focused on the relationship between conscientiousness and other external environmental variables, such as conscientiousness and family socioeconomic status, conscientiousness and school education. In recent years, with the emergence of new technological means, the researches on the biological basis of conscientiousness have also continued to develop.Studies have found that conscientiousness has a stable genetic basis and is related to specific genetic loci.Genetics have a strong influence on conscientiousness. Some studies have also found that conscientiousness has a related brain basis. It is related to the brain's structure in the lateral prefrontal cortex and frontal gyrus, probably because these brain areas are responsible for the planning and self-control of complex things. However, previous studies have not linked all factors(the genetic basis, the brain basis, and the conscientiousness),and could not establish a complete clue chain that genetic basis influences the personality dimension. With the development of bioinformatics, neural imaging genetics has been gradually developed. This hypothesis hypothesizes that genes affect and regulate behavior through the brain.Genes are called internal phenotype, the brain is called the intermediate phenotype, and behavior is called external phenotype. This gives the personality psychologist a new research idea, which is to combine genes, brain and personality to build a model of personality and brain basis of personality. The purpose of this study was to explore the conscientiousness genetic and dynamic brain basis. In order to achieve this goal, first of all, this study examines the relationship among Polygenic Risk Scores, dynamic brain indicators and individual differences in conscientiousness. Then, this study used Polygenic Risk Scores, dynamic brain indicators, and multimodal models combining genes and dynamic brain indicators to predict the individual's score for conscientiousness. In the first study, the Big Five personality test was used to assess the participants' conscientiousness behavioral scores, the Polygenic Risk Scores of conscientiousness were calculated to represent the genetic basis for conscientiousness, and rest fMRI was used to perform dynamic functional network connectivity analysis.Firstly, the relationship between the three was tested. After controlling for age and gender, the researchers examined the mediating effects of genes, brain, and personality. The results showed that there was no significant correlation between Polygenic Risk Scores and conscientiousness individual scores, and there was a significant correlation between brain dynamic network indicators and conscientiousness individual scores, and the mediating effect was significant,ie,the effect of genes on personality was achieved through the brain.Study II adapts the method of predicting cross-validation using the leave-one-out method.Firstly, researcher used the Big Five personality multi-gene score to predict the individual's score, and then used the dynamic brain network indicators to predict the individual's score. Finally,it used multimodal models combining genes and dynamic brain indicators to predict the individual's score for conscientiousness. After comparing the prediction performance of the three,it was found that both the genetic basis and the brain dynamic network can be used as an effective feature for predicting conscientiousness individual scores, and the multimodal models combining genes and dynamic brain indicators can obtain best prediction performance, which providing a new idea for later studies. In summary, the results of this study showed that the genetic basis of conscientiousness affects the conscientiousness individual differences by affecting the dynamic switching of the brain's functional network;combining genetic basis with dynamic brain network indicators can better predict conscientiousness individual scores. This result showed that conscientiousness has the basis of heredity and brain dynamics, proved the rationality of neuroimaging genetics and provides new ideas for follow-up conscientiousness research.
