The senior high school stage is very important in the learning career,which is not only the continuation of the previous knowledge,but also lays the foundation for further study.English is one of the major courses and its importance is self-evident.However,there are some differences between English and Chinese.And some senior high school students have poor academic achievements because they lack the context about learning English.It is generally believed that learning behavior is the main factor,which influences English performance,but it ignored the non-intellectual factor – English learning self-efficacy.The poor English academic performance leads to low self-efficacy in English learning,which can negatively affect learning motivation and it's easy to form a vicious circle.Therefore,the attention to English learning self-efficacy is a great importance for senior high school students.The study has two research questions.Firstly,what's the current situation of senior high student's English learning self-efficacy?Secondly,Is there a significant difference between these two variance and English learning self-efficacy?Based on the theoretical foundations of social learning theory and humanism learning theory,the questionnaire of English learning self-efficacy used as the tool,the research choses the 204 students from senior high school in Yulin as the research objects.This study aims to investigate the general level about English learning self-efficacy of senior high school students.From gender and grade perspective,it tests whether there is a significant difference between these two variance and English learning self-efficacy.According to the quantitative analysis,there are some conclusions in the survey.Firstly,English learning self-efficacy is at medium level,with an average of 3.03.In the fourrelevant dimensions,the highest level is the sense of effort,that point is 3.16,the point about sense of frustration is 3.04 and the sense of challenge is 3.01.But the lowest dimension is sense of the ability and the average mean is 2.83.Secondly,from the grade point,there is a significant difference between the overall English learning self-efficacy and gender.With the growth of grade,the level of English learning self-efficacy is decreasing.In terms of gender,girls' English learning self-efficacy is higher than boys'.According to the research results,this study provides some suggestions from four relative dimensions,such as training of learning strategies,model learning and setting reasonable learning goals,which expects to improve the level about students' English learning self-efficacy.
