Zou Hao is a well-known remonstrator in Northern Song Dynasty, and he mainly lived during Zhezong and Huizong Peroid.Zou Hao's father is a public officer, and thus Zou Hao accepted high-qualified education since birth, which was mainly combined with works of Northern Song Dynasty poetry revolution.Daoxiang Collection is his only collection existing till now. However, there are only a few studies on Zou Hao's works in academic circles, and even none on Zou Hao's prose. Thus, this paper studies Zou Hao's literature in order to observe the claim and practice of the Northern Song Dynasty poetry revolution from Zou Hao's literal creation. The full paper is combined with five chapters:First in prolegomenon, the paper introduced the basic situation of Dao Xiang Collection, whose best edition is Chenghua Edition. In Chapter 2,in order to provide background materials for study on Zou Hao's works, his life story and companionship were discussed.According to this chapter,Zou Hao has various friends, including scholar-officials,buddhist monks and Taoist priests. And he has traditional Confucian outlook on life as well as literary view that creed is more important than literary. He also holds the view that literal works should be official, fresh and generous. And his life view is positive and ambitious, although sometimes he refers to buddhist monks and Taoist priests.Chapter 3 is on Zou Hao's poems. This chapter is based on the content of poetry, artistic features, comparison with Bai Juyi and Liu Yuxi's poetic style, rhetoric and draws the style characteristics of Zou Hao's poem "Elegant and Honest" and the artistic features with more code and more rigorous regulations. It is also found that Zou Hao's writing has its rhetorical devices such as repetition and metaphor. The fourth chapter divides Zou Hao's articles into the following nine categories according to the general classification in academia.According to the content,Zou Hao's articles are divided into the following nine categories: public writings, letters, miscellaneous writings,gift-preface,postscripts,argumentative essays, stone inscriptions, mourning proses and biographies. Then, different characteristics and literary achievements of every kind of style are specifically interpreted, and it is concluded that the articles are rich in themes and deep in meanings.Chapter 5 discusses the general characteristics of Zou Hao's poetry and the later acceptance of his poetry. It is found that Daoxiang Collection is differently accepted during different dynasties. It was popular in Song Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, but covered up in Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty.Based on the study of Daoxiang Collection, the achievements of the Northern Song Dynasty poetry revolution are also examined. And finally, the literary position of Daoxiang Collection is summarized.According to this study,it is found that there are various poems and articles in Daoxiang Collection, and that their status in contemporary literary history should be properly elevated.Meanwhile, the inadequacies of Daoxiang Collection lie in the fact that some of the Buddhism and Taoism words in poetry are obscure and sometimes Zou Hao's poetry is overly simple and lacking in essay writing.Sometimes, there are not enough words to talk about specific images.Zou Hao's Daoxiang Collection is regarded as the product of the Northern Song Dynasty poetry revolution. And we can observe some mainstream creative tendency of the Northern Song Dynasty poetry revolution from it.The innovation of this study lies in the comprehensive utilization of comparative and accepted literary perspectives, and the analysis of Zou Hao's own literary conception, and then the study of his works. It is concluded that Zou Hao's works should be paid ateention to and though higher.
