The Artistic Style Of Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Films

Turkey is a country which is crossing Asia and Europe,the unique geographical location develops special culture and art,in this magical land,Islam culture booming vigorously,it also absorbed the advanced western culture,besides all of that,the capitalism started effect people's thoughts step by step.During the blending of religious culture and modern civilization,a number of outstanding artists emerged,and they made excellent achievements in the fields of literature and film making,such as Ferit Orhan Pamuk,Yilmaz Guney,Nuri Bilge Ceylan and so on.The achievements they made in literature and art have led the world to focus on them.Especially when Nuri Bilge Ceylan getting the golden palm from Cannes film festival,all the medias claimed that the Turkish movies are hitting the top again.The films of Nuri Bilge Ceylan have unique characters from the beginning,the screen script bases on the reality of Turkey,it's a kind of expression about his own life experience and social relationship between human beings: the dispassionate long-shot,the powerful expressive sounds,the indifference of people and sense of alienation,the way how he made his films are full of poetry.As a freshman of film makers,Nuri Bilge Ceylan is not analyzed in an academic way so often,neither his films do,most of the articles about him or his films are focus on single element or summarize about the movies.This article mainly embarks from the Turkish film development situation to the overall study of Nuri Bilge Ceylan,according to the references from both domestic and foreign,analysis the films from inside and outside effective elements,including the characteristics of the film language,the skills for internal construction,narrative strategies and how he created characters,as well as the masters who inspired him and what we can learn from all of those.The chapter 3 and chapter 4 are the main part of this article,they are about the details of films,sometimes it's about the special part of shots or just one shot which is meaningful and complicated.When I writing the article I insist that putting the study object under history reality and combine the policy of Turkey and director's own life experience to explore the motivation and theme of his film making.The chapter 5 is conclusion,what we can learn from Nuri Bilge Ceylan,and what kind of affection he has made to Asian film.
