Ecological education is a kind of education which integrates the principles and methods of ecology into the ecological process of modern universal education and conforms to the natural and human nature.The development of ecological education is of great value to students who are in the junior middle school and has a special and far-reaching influence on the students’ lifetime development.It is the ideal education that we pursue,therefore,it is an important research topic that how to use the theory of ecological education to guide the course of English subject to ecological education.Based on the theory of ecological education,ecological philosophy,ecological linguistics,ecological psychology and Ecological Curriculum theory,it can be concluded that there are eight dimensions in the theoretical study of English Ecological Curriculum.They are the relationship of the elements,the harmony of human development,the balance of the system,the integration of man and nature,the ecology of language,the situation of individual development,the creation and development of curriculum,holistic and systematic curriculum.Combining these dimensions and the results of questionnaire survey and teaching observation,the current junior middle school English teaching has been analyzed,it is found that the English teaching has the following ecological imbalance: the imbalance among English curriculum objectives,content and evaluation shows;the ecological imbalance among English courses,teaching materials and classes;the imbalance among listening,speaking,reading and writing;the imbalance among English teaching method system;ecological imbalance between English teaching subjects;ecological imbalance between English classroom teaching,extracurricular activities and environment.The ecological curriculum model in junior middle school has been constructed,whose structure includes the theoretical basis,value orientation,the five-stage teaching model and its application in the implementation phase,implementation strategy and evaluation system.Among them,the theoretical basis of the junior middle school English ecological curriculum includes the principles of ecological education,the theory of two language acquisition,the theory of Constructivism curriculum;the value orientation of the course is both instrumental and humanistic,which aims to promote the growth of students’ life and cultivate their good behavior.The five-stage model(WSICE)includes warm-up activities,situational presentation,interactive teaching,cooperative development and extra-curricular extension.The implementation strategies include limitation factors conversion strategy,change flowerpot effect strategy,expand niche strategy and the optimum of tolerance strategy.
