On The Chinese - English Study For Operation Instruction About Diesel Fuel Genset Of DF Series/PCC Shunt-wound Control System

China with massive market,as the target country of investment and factories of foreign country,developed fast in machinery industry.Finally,demand for translation of mechinery texts has been increasing and the quality of translation version hiking,in particular C-E handbook translation.English handbooks about machinery texts have become a main channel to promote company sales and expend overseas market.It is high time improved the C-E version quality of machinery handbooks,promoted the development of machine manufacturing industry by using scientific translation theories,strategies.The paper mainly talks about the C-E translation about Operation Handbook about Diesel Fuel Genset of DF Series/PCC Paralleling Controlling System by using the three principles of skopos theory,including the skopos principle,fidelity principle and coherence principle,and the normal translation strategies in machinery texts,such as literal translation,free translation,emitting,etc.The creating point is that the foreign operational worker with the relative knowledge about machine.The paper consists of four parts.The first part is the brief introduction about the project,including project underground and project significance.The second is the description about translation process,including parallel texts searching and analysis,study about skopos theory,choice about the translation strategies,including literal translation,free translation,emission,and so on,trimness about professional terms about machine,translation exam and customers' reflection.The third part is the main part——case analysis,the translation study's focus is on words and sentence about the text and picking out a part of sentence as example of this paper.The last part is the conclusion,including summary of the study,limits and illustration to translation of machinery texts.This practice report aims to clarify and analyze the concrete problems and difficulties arising therein with respect to the words and sentences.Besides,some ideas and measures concerning such difficulties are also proposed thereinafter,so as to serve as a reference for the further translation practices of this field.
