Language skills include the skills of “listening,speaking,reading,and writing”.And in the process of learning English,reading activity is the most frequent activities.Improving the reading skill is the key to improving the ability of listening,speaking and writing.And it is an excellent way to develop students' listening,speaking and reading ability comprehensively.However,the current English reading teaching still have many problems,such as: boring English reading classes,Students' lack of the interest in reading and so on.Students' reading ability is still weak.In 2011,the national revised curriculum standards for middle school English put forward that the teaching should focus on the student-centered core concept and advocating task-based teaching.The task-based language teaching mode can solve these problems very well in the teaching of English reading.Therefore,it makes a lot of sense to study the task-based language teaching mode in reading teaching.In this study,the task-based teaching mode was applied to English reading classes in junior school.One hundred students from two parallel classes in a junior school in Zhenjiang,Jiangsu Province were selected as subjects for a one-semester teaching experiment.This study mainly studied the following two questions: First,can the task-based language teaching model improve students' interest and confidence in English reading? Second,can the task-based language teaching model effectively improve students' English reading ability?This study used EXCEL and SPSS13.0 statistical software to analyze the date of questionnaire survey and English test which were collected before and after the experiment.And after the research,this study found that: First,the task-based reading teaching model was introduced into the English reading teaching class in the form of parallel classes in junior school.Among them,students' English reading interest and confidence can be effectively improved.Second,compared with the traditional reading teaching mode,students' English reading grades under the task-based readingteaching mode has improved significantly.It shows that task-based reading teaching not only can help students improve the grades of English reading,but also the total grades in English test papers.It shows that task-based reading teaching can greatly improve students' ability in using English language comprehensively.In addition,the following teaching revelations are proposed for this study: First,as a first-line English teachers,we must be able to grasp the modern teaching concept and the teacher-student outlook that teachers in the new curriculum reform require.Teaching should aim at students' all-round development.Second,teachers need to fully study the relevant theories of task reading teaching model,and lay a theoretical foundation for the use of this model.Third,teachers should continuously improve their ability to use the task-based teaching model in the process of teaching practice,and more scientifically design and lay out tasks,not only according to the relevant theories of the task-based reading teaching model,but also to read the combination of materials and Students have existing cognitive level.All in all,we must continue to explore and summarize in the future teaching practice and give this reading teaching model a stronger vitality.
