Barrier design is a concept proposed in product design.It is defined to add some barrier elements to products on the basis of ergonomics,so as to increase the complexity of products' application for certain purposes.In fact,the book is also a cultural artifact with communication functions.The books' attribute makes the application of barrier design in books more abundant space.This kind of reverse design idea opens up the design's thinking,making the original unitary book stand out when compared with electronic books in the era of rapid digital development.Through the reinterpretation of barrier design in the paper,people have a wider range of knowledge of the application of barrier design.The application and performance of barrier design in the contemporary books' innovation design is studied,and the concept of barrier design is reinterpreted.The practicability of barrier design is introduced into books' innovation for analysis,and its unique practical value and aesthetic experience is studied by combining with the application case of books with barrier design.In this way,it is proposed that barrier design must be subject to the content and form of book and maintain a high unity with them.Based on case demonstration and theoretical analysis,the paper concludes that the rational use of barrier design can open up new ideas for book design,under the premise of taking into account the practicality and applicability of books.It strengthens the artistry of books and inspires designers to apply the method of barrier design to express design thoughts and emotions,thereby giving readers a different of reading experience and making the emotional bond between readers and books more intimate.
