As the thought crystal of modernism,abstract art takes lots of social tags.She is the writer of myths,a glance from the eye of power entails her to become a cultural spokesman of Cold War;She is the matchmaker between elitism and art,the appreciation of art market drives her became the capital idol of privileged elite.She is also the witch of primitive civilization,the clumsy pictorial expression reconciles the conflicts and creates an intercultural revelry.Theoreticians always cast their spotlight on sociology analysis and symbol decoding of abstract art.However,there are few researches focusing on the value of abstract art in aesthetic field.Based on this,the start point of this dissertation lies on solving the problem of “what is abstract art” in the realm of aesthetics.Unlike other researches on analyzing the definition of abstract art,this dissertation tends to reveal the natural aesthetic paradox in abstract art.In addition,the question between abstract art and vitality will be proposed for seeking the true beauty of abstract art.The first chapter tries to clarify the relation between abstract art and picture.As a sort of art,the picturing construction is the essence of abstract art.Picture implies an appearance of visual experience rather a pictorial stylish.It's noticeable the streaming of picture is about the mechanism of visualizing reception and imagine,in stead of cognition.The second chapter tempt to expose the anti-picturing of abstract art.The abstraction is naturally against to picture as it tries to reach the paradise of pure concept.It is the pure concept that entails abstraction became a mechanism of anti-picturing.In the third chapter,the value of paradox in abstract art will be unveiled.Abstract art is a journey of Sisyphus,it can't reach the destination of pure concept,but it has to abstract itself.Only because the process of abstraction is the transcendence of art.In here,the paradoxof abstract art has been unveiled.As a sort of art,abstract art must keep itself with picture while the abstraction is a mechanism of anti-picturing.It is this aesthetic paradox achieve the true value of abstract art.The significance of paradox is seeking the possibility among all impossibilities.
