A Study On The Relationship Between Nostalgia, Self Continuity And College Adaptation

Entering into the university lately,everything is new.It means that freshman entered a new stage of life.They are faced with the challenge of adapting to the new university's study and life.Whether they can successfully complete the process of adapting to the university is of great significance to the growth of the individual and the training of the national talents.In this life-changing process,college freshmen often produce more nostalgia.Nostalgia is a kind of self-conscious emotion,which is a complex emotional state dominated by positive emotions in the past,and has a certain relationship with the individual's positive mental state.Whether university freshmen's nostalgia has a positive effect on university accommodation? Nostalgia through what kind of mechanism affects the freshman's school adaption? This paper explores the relationship between nostalgia and university adaptation through a related research and an experimental study,and explores the role of self-continuity in detail.Self-continuity and adaptability were investigated by using questionnaire method,and the relationship between nostalgic tendencies and freshmen's school adaptation was investigated.The relationship between self-continuity and nostalgia and school adaptation was investigated..The second study used the experimental method to start the nostalgia of the experimental group and set up the control group.It inspects the role of nostalgia to adapt to the confidence of the university,and continued to explore the relationship between self-continuity and nostalgia.The main results are as follows:(1)There is a low negative correlation between the nostalgic tendency and the school adaptability of freshmen at the beginning of the month.(2)The nostalgia of individual and society is significantly negatively correlated with the environment adaptation,communication adaptation and emotion adaptation of college freshmen;(3)There were moderate positive correlations between self-continuity and new school adaptation in the measurement of two time points.(4)self-continuity has a part of mediating effect between the nostalgia and new school adaptation.Nostalgia has the negative impact on college freshmen to adapt to entry on the one hand,on the other hand,it promotes self-continuity to better adapt to university freshmen life,reducing the negative impact of nostalgia;(5)At the end of the school year,the nostalgia of freshmen and middle school students were moderate positive correlation with confidence.(6)self-continuity has a part of mediating effect between the nostalgia and the adaption confidence of the end of fresh year.Nostalgia not only directly promotes college students' adaption confidence,but also through self-improvement to enhance self-confidence to positively affects adaption confidence,and nostalgia's direct positive effect is stronger.
